The new Lucky Luke comic album - UN COW-BOY DANS LE COTON - will be out on October 23rd, this year. I'm really looking forward to this. I think it marks the very first time a Lucky Luke story addresses slavery and racism as the principal theme. The title 'UN COW-BOY DANS LE COTON' could be translated like 'The Cowboy in the Cotton', I guess (cf. 'The Catcher in the Rye').

Here are a couple of spectacular original layout sheets from different years, back to the late 1960s, a delicacy for every comic art enthusiast.

Three typically anarchic Ward Kimball pieces, (1) a revisionist model sheet for animators featuring misrepresentations of Mickey Mouse, (2) Jiminy Cricket as he was never seen in Pinocchio, by Kimball himself who designed and animated the original character in the 1940 film and (3) Kimball by Kimball, a hilarious reference to his life-long love of steam locomotives: a passion he shared with Walt Disney.
